Kodrul Islam

Co Founder

Mr Kodrul Islam is a successful entrepreneur and a passionate charity fundraiser. He runs two of his family’s restaurants in the City of London and is involved in promotion of the interest of the curry industry as the joint secretary of British Bangladesh Caterers Association.

Mr Islam worked tirelessly for the benefits of St Thomas Hospital in South London and recently ran a 6 days 9 countries charity Motor rally to raise funds for St Thomas Hospital . During the 2004 World Cup Football in Germany, he undertook a unique mission to feed the England Squad and drove a curry van to Germany to provide them with fresh curries.

Through his co founding of BanglaBritz, he has been active in promoting unique cultural events for British Bangladeshi Diaspora and as part of his effort to raise the profile and cultural richness of Bangladesh, he has invested his time and money to co produce a film in Bangladesh which has been shot in its entirety in the United Kingdom.

Mr Islam is passionate about the restaurant and remains committed to sustain the success and viability of the curry industry in the long run. Being involved with ARTA is his way of paying homage to the hard working men and women of the curry industry.

Zakir Khan

Zakir Khan works for the Canary Wharf Group as Head of Public Affairs. With strong links in sport, media, business, education, manufacturing, and universities, Zakir has a positive ‘can do’ attitude in promoting British Bangladeshi Culture.


Notable achievements include becoming the first British Asian to be appointed Club Ambassador for West Ham United FC. Zakir is an active conservative.

Razak Amin (Shahid)

Razak Amin (Shahid) is an enthusiast and highly self motivated Business Entrepreneur, always hungry to strive for the best. He is a successful restaurateur with vast experience in retail management and has various businesses interest within the UK and abroad.

His personal activities include working with local communities and charities. Shahid believes in: “NEVER TOO LATE, STRIVE FOR THE BEST”

Aziz-ur Rahman

Aziz-ur Rahman is a man of energy, blue sky thinking and his inspiration has promoted British Bangladeshi business and culture amongst main stream industry and community. His key achievements includes Nowka Bais, honorary doctorate from the University of Oxford Brookes and the Aziz group of businesses.

Barrister Moinul Islam

Barrister Moinul Islam graduated from University of Reading in Politics & International Relations. He later went on to study LLB at City University. Having completed his Bar qualification from ICSL, he was called to the Bar in 2001. Alongside his profession, he has a number of business interests in both UK and Bangladesh.

Sufi Miah

Honorary Member

Sufi Miah is the MD of ATN Bangla UK, he has successfully created a significant property and real estate portfolio, in the UK. Apart from his interests in property development Sufi Miah is also known in the Bangladeshi community for producing, financing and organising high profile events.

He was one of the pioneers in the Bangladeshi community for organising live international mega star studied shows. Sufi is also active in various charities.
